The company POR Consult d.o.o., meaning Projekti Održivog Razvoja – Projects of Sustainable Development, is primarily involved in environmental projects with emphasis on sustainable urban redevelopment, circular and collaborative economy subject areas. These approaches entail cross-sector integration strategies and projects with their implementation into public and private sector. It cooperates with various national Ministries and local governments and authorities with the aim of incorporating legislative norms into practice, and forming new policies, norms and strategies on local, regional and national level. Connecting several different actors and stakeholders is crucial in implementation of regenerative and sustainable practices, but the dialogue between them is often scarce or non-existing. The company is trying to bridge the gaps inflicted by non- or miscommunication especially between public and private sector, connecting them and offering innovative solutions that are institutionally, environmentally, socially and economically interesting. The company is continuously trying to educate young prospective employees as best as possible to promote knowledge of European goals in the areas of environmental engineering, resource efficiency, green economy and best environmental practices.
Partner involvement in the UPSURGE project
In UPSURGE, POR is initially responsible for creating the Framework for the Multimodal Sensing System that will be the basis for elaboration and deployment of sensing solutions in 5 UPSURGE demonstration cities. POR is also responsible for creation of relevant general policy proposal related to sustainable spatial management, public-private partnerships and institutional transition to a more sustainable and green society.
